About US
Living Free Ministries is a non profit organization goverened by a Board of Directors. We provide leadership for people dealing with "life controlling issues". A "life controlling issue" is something people would consider positive such as work, sports, or ministry or things people would consider negative such as drugs, alcohol, gambling, sexual additions and etc.
We provide assistance to people who need help getting into a treatment program and once completed we offer a program to keep them connected and accountable. We work closely with the families while their loved one is away in treatment. We mainintain attendance records of our meetings for those who are on parole and probation.
We are located behind Magnolia Funeral home on Highway 72 East, Corinth, MS. Our moto is "Learn to Live Free in Christ."
We were founded February 2005. Tommy Wilson, director was a slave to drugs and gambling. He sold his own car (among other things) to finance his habits, but he found a way out and now he's trying to help others find the FREEDOM of the clean life.
We provide food and non-food items to those in need, through our "Rock Room" It was named after Rocky Battles because he was always giving. It is a room of hope for some. It may be a roll of toilet paper or a new coat. We meet alot of needs in this room. Trenia Marcum is over this. We are always in need of cleaning, bathroom supplies or non perishable food items. We take NEW coats. No Clothes Please!
We are currently in need of facilitators--We need adult and children leaders. Meetings held at 6:30 p.m. each Monday and Thursday. Mondays, We currently have 4 small groups that meet. One of which is a Women's only group led by Trenia Marcum. On Thursdays, we have our "Celebration Night" which we come together as one big group and just celebrate what God has done in our lives. On Saturday mornings, we have a Men's Bible Study. We average 130 people a week attending our meetings and we feed a meal at no cost at each meeting.
Please continue to pray for us as we grow. We are praying about a new project that will provide a half-way house of sorts for people (men initially) in transition. This would be a Christian based ministry for people fresh out of rehab, prison, or for some other reason find themselves with nowhere to go. We envision that this ministry would provide housing and food, help build Christian faith and their daily walk with the Lord, help locate jobs (providing transportation if necessary), and transition them to stand on their own.
All this is made possible by a core group of volunteers and support from individuals, local churches and organizations.
